Anatomy of a proper warmup
Your fingers aren't ready for shredding the second you pick up the guitar. Why musical warmups are vital to prevent injury.

Jumping straight into the fastest exercise of your routine without warming up is the most direct path to tendinitis and frustration. Your tendons and muscles require blood flow before demanding extreme stretches or bursts of sixteenth notes from them. But a good warmup doesn't have to sound like a typewriter. The classic 1-2-3-4 chromatic exercise up and down the neck gets the biomechanical job done, but it gets boring quickly. A modern warmup should be musical. In InstrumentGym, we constantly rotate your warmup exercises to prevent mental fatigue. We use low-demand technical figures and moderate tempos that adapt to your preferred style. Whether it's a slow blues-rock groove or an open chord progression, the goal is to wake up your hands and sync your ear with the instrument, preparing you for the real session.
